Because I have always been a big Washington Redskins fan, back in 10th grade I made a Redskins plate as part of my ceramics art show (as seen on this table). This year, they have changed the team name to the Washington Commanders, so I’ve decided to dedicate my entire senior ceramics art show to my favorite football team’s new name. For my art show, I made a Washington Commanders circular plate, rectangular plate, and little bowl. They each have different Commanders logos on them, with the Commanders colors of burgundy, gold, and white painted in. For my circular plate and bowl, I threw them on the wheel. I made the rectangular plate by hand-building it. Then to put the logos on them, I printed out pictures of each of the logos, put each on top of graphite paper, traced each onto the bone-dry pieces, then painted the colors into the lines on the pieces. I can’t wait until next year when I’ll be eating off of these pieces when the Commanders are in the Super Bowl!
